What about a chat room, a web page java script would do, but preferably an irc client if you can host it.
Perhaps consider web streaming as an option, imagine broadcasting lectures, or a series of lectures over the net.

Investigating the chat room just now Meph. My only worry is abuse, but we could trial it and see how it goes? Graeme is indisposed at the minute but should be back on the keyboard soon (hopefully!). I will talk to him about this, and web streaming, whatever that is! The idea of broadcasting lectures is a great idea, and one worth pursuing. It may not happen tomorrow, but will happen when we work out the pro's and cons. Thanks for the excellent suggestions, and keep them coming folks. Lets try and create in SCOTLAND the best virtual learning environment for pre-university psychology in the entire world. Which reminds me, if you come across anything useful in your surfing, let www.gerardkeegan.co.uk know, and we will emulate, or make our version even better. The motto of our site is Simply, The Best. Thus as Picard says let's 'Make it so.'
